Ad for Pillars of humanity: the Delphic Admonitions
Genre: Philosophy, History, Religion, self-improvement

Nestled on the south-western spur of Mount Parnassus, the Delphic oracle, seat of the “Delphic Sybil”, was the most learned, opulent and celebrated religious center of the classical Greek world. In the fore temple of the sun-god, Apollo, at Delphi, 148 brief maxims were inscribed on votive pillars surrounding the visiting pilgrim. They were known as the Delphic Admonitions: the milestones of the path to an enlightened and happy life. Attributed either to the divine revelation of Apollo’s wisdom or to the Seven Sages of Antiquity, the philosophers who laid the foundations of Western culture, the Delphic Admonitions are a sublime summary of Ancient Greek philosophical and theological teachings, addressed to the savant and the common man alike. In this work, all 148 Delphic Admonitions are presented complete with historical commentary and semantic analysis of each one, so as to render them easy to comprehend even to the reader unfamiliar with the particulars of the ancient Greek world. Each Admonition is embellished with historical notes concerning the prevalent philosophical and theological notions of the Classical era as well as anecdotal accounts from the lives of philosophers to serve as examples. Furthermore, an appendix containing the Delphic Admonitions in ancient Greek is supplied for the cross-reference and research needs of the discerning reader. The Delphic Admonitions comprise a complete system by which one may chose to lead a harmonious and balanced life of happiness, dealing with every aspect of human existence – from the most mundane practices of everyday living to the abstract spiritual notions which govern belief in the preternatural.

With an alcoholic father moving his family around the country in a desperate effort to make ends meet, Sullivan learned at an early age that life would not be easy. Ad for The Story of a Never Ending Way
Genre: Documentary/Travel

The Way is none other than the famous Catholic pilgrimage of St. James the Great across the Iberian Peninsula in Northwestern Spain. My journey began in France, in the picturesque village of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, in the foothills of the Pyrenees and ended in Santiago de Compostela, in Spain where the saint who first charted the Way, lies entombed. The route passes through countless of towns and villages. I encountered many breathtaking landscapes, rivers and forests and truly wonderful people; pilgrims who walked with me and others who lived along the road. I also experienced and discovered the rich and marvelous culture--so different to mine--of the Basque people, who are still deeply rooted to their ancient traditions. My journey was difficult, with many kilometers to travel almost without stopping, sometimes over great altitudes and at others over infinitely long stretches. I was exhausted and often in pain from the impossibly long distances, but it was nonetheless a magical, internal procedure which gave me all the more admiration for life. I walked about 770-775 kilometers and I would not change a single day of it.

This, led me to embark on my journey of discovery, I was ready to take on the challenge. Like me, every one of us desires to know the answers to the meaning of their lives and beliefs. Few gather the courage to walk this road. So they shun their desire for truth and subdue their courage for questioning and challenging. What Turning Point has to offer is only for those who are ready to meet their fears, take the challenge and find the answers.
